APRIL 25, 2008
INTERIMS: Interim progress reports are coming home today. Please review them, sign, and return as soon as possible. Do remind your child that summer vacation does not begin until 12:00pm (noon) on Friday, May 30th. This period can be a very difficult time for some students to stay focused and on task.
2008-2009 BOOK FEES: The book fee is $240 per child for next year. This fee is due by Friday, May 2nd. Please keep this date in mind.
THE CASINO NIGHT COMMITTEE would like to thank everyone who gave their ideas, support, auction items, sponsorship, and especially their time to make the night a great success! If you had a great time, spread the word! We already have some great new ideas for next year. If you’d like to become a part of the planning, look for information in the Fall! Thank You!
FLORIDA, HERE WE COME! The 8th grade class and chaperones will be leaving around 9:00pm on Tuesday, April 29th for our trip to Florida. Our itinerary is a visit to the Kennedy Space Center, EPCOT, Islands of Adventure, downtown Disney, and Animal Kingdom. Our trip will end in Fayetteville either late Friday night or early Saturday morning. Please keep us in your prayers.
MAY CROWNING: May Crowning will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at 2:00pm. Please join us for this beautiful sign of devotion to our Blessed Mother. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate.
SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAM: The school spring music program is scheduled for Thursday, May 8th starting at 6:30pm in the church. We are asking the students to report to their classrooms (in uniform) before 6:15pm and they will be taken over to church. Each classroom will be showing their musical talents. After the program, your child will be dismissed to you.
SCHOOL ART SHOW: You are encouraged to stop by the school after the music program on Wednesday, May 8th to view the wonderful art work your children have produced over this school year. Please do take some additional time and browse! I hope to see you there.
WHERE ARE YOU? The PVO and SAC committees are need of volunteers to step forward and assume some leadership roles within the school. If you are interested in stepping forward, please send a short letter of intent to the school office. Get involved!
THE SCHOOL YEAR BOOK COMMITTEE: is looking for a coordinator for next year’s book. This is a great way to get to know more people in the school while doing something nice for the children. Job details can be obtained by emailing Jenna Schutzer at jschutzer@nc.rr.com.
WALK-A-THON UPDATE: The weather was beautiful and the Walk-a-thon ran smoothly thanks to the hard work of many volunteers. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Laura King for heading this event. The committee is now in the process of tallying up the results. The final figures will be announced at a later date, but a preliminary total is around $8,500. Again, thank you to the volunteers, parents, and students who walked.
DOMESTIC CHURCH: On Wednesday, April 30th is the last part of the Family Life Series: Living as Domestic Church: Living as Church. Everyone of all ages is invited to participate. The program will focus on the way we live as domestic church and learn more about praying at home. A simple dinner will be served from 6:00-6:45pm in the social hall. Opening prayer is at 7:00pm and the session will end at 8:30pm. There is no charge for the session, but due to the need for accurate numbers for the meal, you must reserve a spot. Please contact Beth O’Leary at 323-2410 x 133 or bolea@stpatnc.org.
FYI: There will be no parent memo next week, because I will be with the 8th grade in Florida. The next memo will be on Friday, May 9th.
