| ST PATRICK SCHOOL – PARENT UPDATE

PERSONAL NOTE: This will be the last parent memo for this school year. I want to thank all of you for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful community of St. Patrick School. There have been some ups and downs throughout my 18 years as principal and teacher; but overall I have been truly blessed. I will leave the school with many wonderful memories of great students, parents, and faculty. St. Patrick School will always be in my thoughts and my prayers. THANK YOU!
CHANGING NEWS: If you did not hear, the following faculty will not be returning for next year: Mrs. LeeAnn Porter (kindergarten assistant), Mrs. Lisa Tharp (first grade assistant), Mrs. Lynn Mehring (sixth grade teacher), and Mr. Brian Miller (athletic director). I want to thank these people for their dedicated service. They will be greatly missed.
I am pleased to announce that the following people have been hired: Mrs. Karry Hettich (kindergarten assistant), Ms. Donna Zavesky (first grade assistant), Mr. Gary Southerland (sixth grade teacher), and Mr. Joseph King (athletic director). I want to welcome them to the St. Patrick’s faculty. I am sure everyone will be an asset to the school community.
BOOK FEES & TUITION: All book fees ($240 per child) and any remaining tuition for this school year should now be paid. If there are any outstanding tuition/fees for this year, you must contact Mrs. Joanne Messer to pay the money or setup a payment plan. Also, if you have not turned in your 2010-2011 tuition option payment form, do so ASAP!
A CHANGE OF PLANS: It is imperative that you let the office know if your child is not returning for the 2010-2011 school year!
FANTASTIC JOB! I want to thank the following school parents and student for cleaning up the front of the school and the preschool playground. These wonderful people are: Theresa, Ron and Christian Southers, Mrs. Karen Ewart, Laura and Regan Dotson, Mrs. Barbara Helman, and Mrs. Sun Hui Connell. Both areas look great because of their hard work!
SPECIAL THANK YOU! A special thank you to Mr. Yarborough, he removed the unwanted sand hills by the playground. The sand was from our remodeling of the playground areas two years ago.
HOT LUNCH: The last day for a paid hot lunch is Wednesday, May 26th. Thursday’s lunch will be pizza provided by the PVO for field day.
FIELD DAY: Field day is scheduled for Thursday, May 27th. Grades K-3 will be from 9:15-11:15 and grades 4-7 will be from 12:30-2:30pm. Students may be dressed in appropriate play clothes and tennis shoes.
THIRD SEMESTER HONOR ROLL: The third semester honor roll assembly will be held on Thursday, May 27th at 8:15am in the conference suite.
END OF YEAR AWARDS: The end of the year awards for grades 4-7 will be held on Friday, May 28th after 9:00am liturgy (around 10:00am) in the church. Mrs. Cummins will also receive her award from RBC bank.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL: The last day of school is Friday, May 28th. It is a 12:00pm (noon) dismissal. Extended care will be provided for those in the program.
UNIFORM FITTINGS: Educational Outfitters (our uniform company) will be here on Monday, May 24th from 2:00-6:00pm in the conference suite. This is a good opportunity to get your uniforms for next school year.
SUMMER OFFICE HOURS: Summer office hours will begin on Tuesday, June 1st. The office will be open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 3:00pm and 8:00am -12:00pm on Fridays with lunch between 11:30 to 12:30. The office will be closed the week of June 7 – 11.
ADVANCED PLANNING FOR NEXT YEAR: Please keep the following dates in mind for the start of school next year:
August 3, 2010 - Orientation packets will be available for pick up
August 10, 2010- 9:00-10:00am New Parent Meeting
- 10:00am – 2:00pm Parent Orientation
August 11-13, 2010- Half days of school, dismissal at 12:00pm (noon)
August 16, 2010- Start of full days and hot lunch program
August 26, 2010- 7:00pm School Open House
FYI: This will be the last parent memo for this school year. The faculty and staff of St. Patrick School want to thank everyone for a wonderful school year. Hopefully, your summer will be filled with joy and happiness. You will be in our prayers!
