K Through 8 Admissions Policy

St. Patrick's admits students of any race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students in the school.  The school does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its policies.

School Year

Entrance Requirements and Fees

Please present the following forms and fees when applying:

Students are to be immunized according to North Carolina’s regulations.  Physical exams are required for children entering preschool and kindergarten, and are recommended for all others.

APPLICATION FEE (FOR NEW STUDENTS ONLY): A non-refundable $25 per child application fee is due when registering. 

REGISTRATION FEE:A non-refundable $50 per child registration fee is due when accepted.  If your child presently attends St. Patrick’s, this assures that room will be reserved for him/her.

BOOK FEE:A book fee of $240 per child is due by May 2, 2008 for returning families and families new to the school.  Book fee refunds will only be made if a family moves from the Fayetteville area prior to the first day of school.

Selection Process

By April 15, 2008, applications will be processed according to the following: priority given to
(1) siblings of St. Patrick’s students,
(2) children of St. Patrick’s parishioners,
(3) children of other Catholic parishes, and
(4) children of other faiths. 
Consideration for acceptance will be based on the admission policy and the date of payment of the application fee.  Pre/post dated checks are not accepted.  A waiting list will be comprised of those children who have not been accepted due to lack of classroom space.  For those applications submitted after March 29, 2008 the names will be placed on the bottom of the waiting list in the order received.

Tuition and Fees Payment Options

PAYMENT PLANS

This year we continue the three payment options:  one payment, two payment and monthly payment options; (see below for the rates)

1. ONE payment due JULY 1, 2008.
2. TWO equal payments due JULY 1, 2008 and DECEMBER 1, 2008.
3. MONTHLY payments over 10 months (JULY –APRIL).

NOTE: For either the 1 or 2 payment plans, the late payment penalty is $50 and you will be required to enroll in one of the methods of monthly payment (see below).
Preschool and extended care programs can be added to one of the above payment plans.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

1. CASH AND CHECKS - Cash and check payments can be made in person to Mrs Joanne Messer, the bookkeeper at the St Patrick Church administrative offices.
2. FACTS - The FACTS payment plan is an automatic payment system. For more information and to set up payments, please contact Mrs. Joanne Messer at the St. Patrick Church office.
3. ACH DEBIT - is an automatic draft from either your checking or savings account. The difference between this and FACTS is that the relationship is between you, the bank, and Joanne Messer, the bookkeeper at St. Patrick Church, so that transaction changes or modifications can be made more quickly and with ease. There will be no additional fees charged to you.The ACH application form should be completed and returned to Joanne Messer in the St Patrick Church office.
4. DEBIT CARDS - Bank debit cards with credit card logos will be accepted.  Payment must be made in Joanne Messer’s office at St Patrick Church. No additional charges will be incurred.
5. CREDIT CARDS - All Mastercard or Visa cards will be accepted. Payment must be made in Joanne Messer’s office at St Patrick Church.. There will be no additional fees charged to you.
6. PAYPAL - paypal can be used to make payments for registration fees, application and book fees, but not tuition payments.
   

These payment methods are available for all payment plans, except Debit/Credit, cash and personal checks may not be used for the monthly payment plan. Paypal cannot be used for tuition payments.

All of these options will be available to you for paying your registration fees and book fees.

Tuition Rates

Please note the discounts for additional children: the 2nd child has a reduction in tuition of 25%, 3rd child – 35% and the 4th and subsequent children – 45%.  All reductions are based on the first child’s tuition rate.

Procedure For Establishing Tuition Status

There are two tuition schedules used at Saint Patrick School, the active parishoner rate, and the standard rate:

SAINT PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH ACTIVE PARISHIONER RATE:
Saint Patrick Catholic Church is a Stewardship community whose members are expected to support the Church by practicing responsible use of their time, treasure and talent.  To qualify for the Active Parishioner Rate, a family must meet all of the following criteria:

1. Be a registered Catholic parishioner, actively involved and financially contributing member of the parish for at least six months prior to school registration OR if you have moved into the Fayetteville area within the last six months you must provide documentation from your previous parish verifying that you were a registered, active and contributing member of that parish.
2. Actively participate in the liturgical life of the parish.  This includes (ideally weekly, but at least regular) worship with the Saint Patrick Church community.
3. Actively support with your time and talent, parish and school ministries, programs and needs.  Parents or legal guardian should perform at least ten hours of service annually (5 hours per semester) to Saint Patrick Church or School.  The service hours must be documented.
4. Ideally weekly, but not less than monthly, contribute financially to the support of the Church in a regular identifiable way using parish envelopes.  Contributions should be planned and proportionate to income.  The amount of weekly/monthly contributions is a matter of justice to the parish and personal conscience.  Contributions cannot be paid in a lump sum because it violates both the letter and spirit of an active church membership.

Qualification for the active parishioner rate will be determined using the above criteria by the parish office, at the end of April or at school registration time, whichever is later, and will not change during the year unless the family loses the active parishioner rate.  Families qualifying for the active parishioner rate must continue to meet the above criteria throughout the year or risk losing this rate. Families will have their tuition rate status reviewed quarterly.

SAINT PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH STANDARD RATE:
All families that do not meet the requirements of the active parishioner rate pay the standard rate.

Application Forms

There are two ways in which you can start the application process - either complete the secure online version of the application forms, or download and print them to be completed by hand and mailed. Whichever method you choose - the registration fee must be received in order for your application to be accepted. You can pay by cash, check, or credit card in person at Joanne Messer's office at St. Patrick Church.
