Philosophy
Our philosophy at St. Patrick Catholic School is based on the “Philosophy of Total Catholic Education”, a full explanation of which can be found on the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh web site.
The parents and faculty of St. Patrick Catholic School recognize that the purpose of Catholic Education is to build and solidify faith in the next generation of Catholic leaders to realize the profound significance of God’s plan for creation.
We strive to continue the development of the student as a complete person who, made in God’s image, will live in God’s world. For this purpose, we offer a sound educational program which contributes to the well-rounded development of each student.
We strive to develop, with parental assistance, children who are aware of and concerned for others, as well as for themselves. We want our students to be capable of assuming a place in the home, Church, and the world community.
The very Rev. David D. Brockman, STL, JCL, former Pastor of St. Patrick Church and now Vicar General for the Diocese of Raleigh, summed it up quite neatly in his letter to the St. Patrick School community members on the occasion of the feast of St. Patrick 2006…
“…Since 1937, our parish school has been a source of excellence in formation within the Fayetteville community. Many teachers who serve in the Cumberland County school system have remarked to me many times about what a pleasure it is to have students who have been part of the St. Patrick School community. But, for us, excellence is not limited to academics alone. Rather, formation at St. Patrick School always emphasizes the whole human person – body, mind, and spirit. This is how God has fashioned each of us and so to strive for excellence within these three aspects of human life is our focus and our goal with each student.
